Sounds of August

Wow, I can’t believe it is already August. It feels like I just started my summer break and now at the end of the month I’ll be moving back to Chicago. I recently just went to go move a few things into my apartment and spend the weekend attending Lollapalooza. Lolla was crazy insane and so fun that I’m already ready to go again next year. I’m already starting my savings fund to so I can attend next year.

Since I was able to attend such an amazing music festival, I had no problem compiling a great playlist for this month featuring some old faves as well as some new faves. I also have another playlist in store for you all which will drop sometime this month.

I saw so many great artists at Lollapalooza that I had to include them. Amongst these are Circa Waves (a band from Liverpool, England that is super up and coming, I can sense it), Twenty One Pilots, Florence + The Machine, Walk the Moon, The Wombats, and BØRNS.

I saw so many great artists and performers that I am overwhelmed with music love this month. I also included One Direction’s newest single, Drag Me Down, which is surprisingly super good. It has a hint of rock and a slight R&B or blues vibe to it at the beginning which is super smooth. The song has great build and could possibly be a diss track at Zayn who recently launched his solo career (I’m so excited I can’t contain it sorry 1D).

I wanted to include their track since I saw them in concert a week or so ago and I also included Icona Pop’s newest track since they opened for them and I kind of fell in love with this song.

Amongst the rest of the mix is some Bastille, Major Lazer, Bleachers, Neon Trees, and The Black Keys, which are some longtime favorites of mine.

I hope you enjoy these festival music vibes and have a great month ahead of you. I will be crazy busy so I’m hoping this will be the soundtrack to a productive and amazing month. Happy listening!
